“The best thing about Recright is that it’s easy and quick to use.”

NTUC Link: Modern recruiting for the tech savvy generation

NTUC Link is a Singapore based company that provides Singapore’s largest and most successful consumer rewards program, Plus! They have been using video interviews since early 2018, and we wanted to know about their experiences. So we asked NTUC Link’s Vice President of Human Resources Alan Yeo a few questions about their experiences with our tool so far.

Q: Alan, in the beginning, what was the challenge NTUC needed to solve and ended up using video interviews in your recruitment?

A: To enable a group of managers with tight schedules assess potential candidates without having the candidates come down multiple times to the premises and to deploy a career site with basic ATS functionality to get away from email applications.”

Q: Did NTUC test other similar tools besides Recright? Any thoughts or experience about those?

A: “The team had previous experience with other solutions; Recright seemed simple and matching to our needs. The best thing about Recright is that it’s easy and quick to use.”

Q: How did your recruiters welcome video interviews as a recruiting tool?

A: “We had experience using it before – we use it mainly for students as we thought they would like the tech/social appeal.”

Q: What kinds of roles do you hire using RecRight?

A: ”Very varied; from technology and data roles to sales and finance.”

Q: You have now used video interviews for some time. What has changed?

A: ”So far we use video for internship and graduate hiring. The idea being that it is appealing to this generation of tech savvy candidates as well as it allows for hiring efficiency.”

Q: Lastly, we asked Alan what’s the best thing about video interviews when screening candidates from recruiter’s point of view?

A: “It takes away the need for aligning of schedules. Also it’s easier to ensure that all candidates are asked the same questions”.
